LifeMed Membership

In these trying times, LifeMed Membership is especially important. Medical insurance coverages are decreasing and co-pay costs are going up which means more out-of-pocket expense for those without LifeMed Membership. Membership translates into significant savings and peace of mind for you and your family. The cost is only $65 per household. Open enrollment is from June 1st through July 31st of each year.

Answer: Absolutely, LifeMed Membership only has to do with the billing portion of our service.

Question: Is LifeMed Membership part of the FireMed program?

Answer: Yes, some ambulance services operate from a Fire Station. We work as an independent agency but participate with FireMed agencies. A list of participating agencies has been enclosed in this packet.

Question: Who does the membership cover within a Household?

Answer: LifeMed Membership covers the member, spouse/significant other, unmarried dependent children under the age of 18, and other persons listed as dependents on your Federal Tax Return that regularly live at your residence. Multiple families living at one address must hold multiple memberships. Coverage is limited to those listed on the membership application. Please call, should you have any questions.

Question: What does LifeMed Membership pay for?

Answer: LifeMed Membership covers the co pay, deductible or limitations on your policy which your insurance does not always cover. We accept your insurance, Medicare or third party payer as payment in full, even if your insurance does not pay the full cost of the transport. Even if you have no insurance, you are covered under the LifeMed Membership.

Question: Does it cover transportation to other hospitals?

Answer: Yes if the Emergency Room or admitting physician deems ambulance transport necessary.

Question: Does LifeMed Membership coverage include out-of-state ambulance services?

Answer: No, it only covers the service area of the seventy-three participating FireMed agencies located throughout Oregon.
